New Invention Helps Professional Painters Significantly Reduce Prep Time and Decreases Likelihood of Accidents

Patented one-piece Plastic Recessed Light Cover increases productivity while letting painters and power-washers "keep one hand on the ladder"

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (August 31st, 2007) - Professional painters and power-washers know exactly how much of a hassle taping off recesses lights can be. Whether they're struggling to partially remove light fixtures or keep their balance, taping lights can be a time-consuming and even potentially dangerous task.

Enter the Plastic Recessed Light Cover (PRLC), a patented product designed to help professional painters increase productivity and profits while reducing the likelihood of injuries. Invented by a longtime painting contractor looking to cut time and material costs - and reduce his time spent high above the ground - the PRLC is a one-piece domed plastic cover that easily snaps onto recessed ceiling light cans and replaces the cumbersome task of masking with paper and tape. The reusable, washable and stackable cover installs with just one hand, lets light through, and allows painters to get up and down the ladder or lift far taster than with traditional masking methods. It also allows painters to avoid the potential dangers associated with flammable masking paper.

A six-inch PRLC designed to fit most standard recessed can trims is currently available for purchase online. Seven-inch and eight-inch models are in development.
